Sony NP-FF70 InfoLithium Camcorder Battery
This InfoLithium battery is designed specifically for use with Sony DCR-IP5 and DCR-IP7BT MICROMV camcorders, providing up to 170 minutes of recording time. However, operating time will vary depending on the device, usage, and temperature.
Part of Sony's AccuPower system, InfoLithium batteries include a built-in microprocessor that communicates with the camcorder. The AccuPower Battery Meter, a highly sophisticated power management feature that constantly monitors shooting conditions, displays the minutes of remaining battery time in the corner of your viewfinder or color LCD screen. It takes the guesswork out of figuring out when to change batteries!
Compatibility: The NP-FF70 can be used with select Sony HandyCam camcorders with "F-Series" battery packs (presently Sony MicroMV camcorder models DCR-IP5 and DCR-IP7BT).
Lithium-Ion: Lithium-ion batteries provide superior ease of use and recording time when compared to Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cad) batteries. Unlike Ni-Cad batteries, you can recharge them at any time without developing any memory effect.
InfoLithium: All Sony InfoLithium batteries incorporate an IC chip that communicates with the camcorder to provide the amount of time remaining on the battery. This feature is known as the Accu-Power meter and the battery time remaining is displayed in the viewfinder or LCD.
Battery Life: The NP-FF70 is rated at 9.6 Wh (1350 mAh), twice the capacity of the NP-FF50 provided with the MicroMV camcorders. It provides approximately 170 minutes continuous recording time, 100 minutes typical recording time, and 165 minutes playback time in both MicroMV camcorder models. (Measurements taken using viewfinder only.)
